The filter press is a dehydration and sludge compression system used where there are large quantities of material.
The sludge extracted by the purifier passes through a homogenizer, a tank where it is mixed and made sufficiently viscous. A membrane pump pushes the sludge from the homogenizer into the filter press. Here, in the spaces between the various plates, the sludge is formed into compressed panels, allowing the excess water to ooze through the filter plates.
Once the water contained in the mud is extracted, the plates separate, opening and letting the sludge panel fall into a special container.
The use of the filter press is not dependent upon the capacity of the system but rather on the amount of mud the customer produces and the material being processed.
PLEASE NOTE: The amount of sludge produced per hour by the filter press depends on the number of hourly presses, the permeability of the material and the percentage of dry content in the previously homogenized sludge.
